Yosselin Turcios, MPH

Site Placement: 
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Office of Behavioral Health Equity 

​Yosselin Turcios is an MPH graduate from Drexel University concentrating in Community Health & Prevention. As an Urban Health Collaborative Masters Research Fellow, she worked on research primarily focused on Latino immigrants' mental health and the impacts of parental deportation on children and families. She has extensive community engagement experience with Latino-serving organizations on breast cancer, child abuse and neglect prevention, and adolescent sexual health. As a Title V fellow for Indiana’s Department of Health, she worked on evaluation and monitoring efforts for community-based organizations serving maternal and child health populations. 

Her interests include working with marginalized populations to develop structural policy interventions to dismantle racial and ethnic health inequities and promote access to quality preventive and healthcare services. Yosselin graduated Summa Cum Laude from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Kinesiology & Health Sciences, concentrating in Public Health.
