Research Scientist, Milken Institute School of Public Health

Dr. Mandar Bodas joined Mullan Institute as a Research Scientist in 2020. His research interests broadly include examining how federal and state-level health policies affect the health of vulnerable populations. Prior to joining the George Washington University, Dr. Bodas was a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Steven M. Teutsch Preventive Effectiveness (PE) Fellow at the Office of Health Policy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Washington, D.C. At ASPE, Dr. Bodas worked on diverse research projects. One of them analyzed the cost of care for Medicare beneficiaries living with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Additionally, he led a project that sought to understand state-level initiatives to address maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity via the use of advanced data infrastructure and data linkages. Dr. Bodas also supported multiple projects funded by the Office of the Secretary’s Patient Centered Outcomes Trust Fund (OS-PCORTF) at ASPE. Dr. Bodas received his PhD in Healthcare Policy and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University.
