Dr. Das is a third-year obstetrics and gynecology resident at The George Washington University. Before medical school, Kirsten worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Washington, DC, and an HIV Counselor at an LGBT community health center. In medical school, she created and led an LGBTQ+ Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) within a large healthcare system by garnering buy-in from system leaders including the Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and General Counsel to successfully implement patient-driven initiatives. In residency, her clinical and research interests have focused on comprehensive contraception care, systems based and efficiency solutions, LGBTQ+ care, and adolescent health. She recently published a study that investigated the role of telemedicine on postpartum contraception use in Washington, DC during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also is the Education Chief Resident at GW spearheading residency-wide initiatives that include hands on learning, promoting resident research, and incorporating evidence-based care.
