Joel Fuentes is a health policy and health communications professional based in Washington, D.C. As the Health Policy Fellow at the American Society for Clinical Pathology’s Institute for Science, Technology, and Policy, Joel lent his expertise to ASCP’s public policy priorities by fostering a more diverse and resilient clinical laboratory workforce through research. As an advocate for digital inclusion and health equity, Joel draws on experiences as a community organizer, former congressional intern, and a person of Mexican-American heritage.
Joel is a double alumnus of Case Western Reserve University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with minors in Spanish and Bioethics and a master’s degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities with a concentration in Medicine, Society, and Culture.
