Toyese Oyeyemi is the Executive Director of Social Mission Alliance at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity in Washington, DC, where he has led the organization’s strategic expansion since 2020. Under his leadership, SMA has launched a landmark five-year strategic plan, secured impactful grants, and developed national initiatives advancing health workforce diversity, health justice, and social accountability in medical education. Previously, he served as a Health Extension Regional Officer in New Mexico, implementing community-driven population health interventions and bridging academic health resources with local social determinants of health priorities. He has published extensively on equity in health professions education and workforce, is a lecturer of prevention and community health at the George Washington University, and a Senior Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity, remaining at the forefront of national efforts to transform health professions schools into more inclusive, equitable, and socially accountable institutions.
