Jagannath Narayanaswamy is a Research Specialist at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Community Resilience at George Washington University. He applies data science, machine learning, and natural language processing to advance equity in health workforce policy and to strengthen community resilience through data-driven insights.
At the Mullan Institute, Jagannath contributes to workforce equity research by analyzing HRSA and other large-scale datasets, developing interactive dashboards, and building predictive models to inform policy and program design. In his role at CCR, he develops AI-powered visualization tools and forecasting systems that help communities and policymakers identify vulnerabilities and design effective resilience strategies.
Previously, Jagannath held data science internships with CodeClause, Slash Mark IT, and Data Science for Sustainable Development (DSSD), where he worked on machine learning projects ranging from financial modeling to process optimization and AI-driven solutions for nonprofits aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He has also led innovative projects such as Text Classification Using Machine Learning and AcademicNFT , a blockchain-based credentialing solution that won first place at LionHacks Summer 2025.
He earned his BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from Dayananda Sagar University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Analytics at George Washington University. His research interests include predictive modeling for public health outcomes, NLP applications in health policy, and the development of equity-focused AI systems for decision-making.
