Ahmad Zia Ziai is the Finance Assistant for the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity (AFHE) at the George Washington University’s Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity. Mr. Zia supports the AFHE team by managing financial operations, processing payments, reconciling expenditures, managing contracts, monitoring budgets, coordinating with financial departments, and ensuring compliance with university policies. His expertise includes budget forecasting, variance analysis, financial compliance, and financial reporting.

With several years of experience in financial management, Ahmad Zia most recently worked as a Financial Management Specialist with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), where he oversaw budgeting, financial reporting, and grant administration for donor-funded projects. He has also held key financial roles with Integrity Watch Afghanistan, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), and the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA). He holds both a Bachelor’s (BBA) and a Master’s (MBA) degree in Finance from Bakhtar University.
